Default I borrowed a 757 for a couple of days.

I know that our 757 do not fly to Europe, but I had no choice but to take on over the Atlantic. Please dont be mad!!! I have some great pictures. I did bring it back with a full tank, and clean.

I believe it is in Spain and has a 4 lane road that crosses the runway. The airport is well known for the upwind draft and tail wind that a nearby mountain produces as air passes over it. In reality it is a very difficult approach since it has a no fly zone that was put in place due to a disagreement over land.

    Great shots Jonathan!

It is the new Aerosoft Gibraltar X scenery. It is a really great piece of work.

I think we should offer summer service here.

I thought I had the Gibralta scenery on my FS but when I checked I seemed to have taken it off or maybe not reinstalled it when I got this new machine. Now I know why. This is what I get in the FS9 version:

The boom gates work on the highway so when you get onto the runway they come down and stop the traffic but I get the floating "bits" of the scenery that don't quite match up with the mountain they're suppose to sit on.

EDIT: Whoops, helps if you check and download the fixes.

That's awesome stuff guys. Surprised they didn't just build a bridge for the aircraft to taxi over rather than a highway level aircraft crossing. Guess plane bridges cost money.

The only problem with that is the taxiway is the runway also.

Hmm... highway tunnel then? Or do something similar to what Atlanta did with runway 28? Guess it comes down to the bottom line.

Check out Madeira Island Airport LPMA (used to be Funchal).

The runway is held up with concrete pylons. Great approach along the mountain following the approach lights.

I'll try and post a few shots on the weekend.

    Jim

P.S. Nice to talk to you today.
